i think i am one of the few people who can get emotional over a freakin garage sale! haha it literally touched my heart to see how many donations we had. yes it took us all day friday (june 5th) to sort through and get it set up (with the help of my parents and my sister) and an hour the morning of the sale to get it all out of the garage but man it was amazing and a little overwhelming at times! we also had a few people make generous cash donations and i wanted to break down cry and hug them right then and there but didn’t want to scare the customers away… haha
my aunt and step-mother-in-law made some items to be sold at the garage sale to help us and my little bro and sister-in-law made cookies to sell. oh my gosh… sometimes i don’t feel we deserve all of this love! to think of the time and effort they put into these handmade items just to help us?? so amazing!
i was really worried about was the weather… the week before my phone and the weatherman kept changing their story about saturday’s weather. by wednesday my phone said there was an 80% chance of rain starting @ 9am. i started to worry… by friday night it had changed to 50% chance but i was still nervous. my mom’s phone said it would start at noon which was better but still i was praying so hard for sunshine (and i know i wasn’t the only one prayin for it!) needless to say our prayers were answered… there was a point around 10 that looked like it might rain but it never did… not one drop! it was amazing! and yes it seems petty to ask God to give us sunshine but it truly was a blessing and goes to show that he does listen and he does care about us.
so anyways… thanks again for all of the garage sale donations, the cash donations, the love, the support that you all have shown us. it has been such a blessing to realize how much we are loved and how much others are willing to give to us to help us reach our goal of an eternal family. J
