a day at the hospital...

well... it started off like any other normal day. tony had been at work for an hour when i got to work at my usual 8am time. then around 8:30 i get a text from tony saying 'i think i just had a small heart attack haha'. i of course (did i spell it right mom?? haha) freak out and call kohls to see what the heck is going on! he said that he has been feeling pressure on his chest all morning... my mind automatically thinks of the worse possible scenario and told him to go to the hospital or a doctor or something!! he plays it cool and says he will see what happens in the next little while. so i text him about 15 min after we hang up to see if he is still alive... no answer. then around 9 i finally get a call from tony... he decided to go to the hospital!! apparently i had freaked him out enough to go get checked out. haha i stay on the phone with him until i know he is at the hospital and he says he will call me in a little bit. he finally calls me at about 9:45 saying he is in a room. so i leave work to be with him. (i was on the verge of a panic attack by then and i thought i would rather have an attack at a hospital... not work! haha but seriously, i was worried and needed to be with him!) so i get there and there he is... just laying on the bed with tubes and wires everywhere! anyways... so the tests from the ekg came back normal and everything looked really healthy with his heart (yay!!) but his liver enzymes and some other sort of enzymes from his heart were higher than they should be... so around 10:30 they took him to have an ultrasound of his liver to see what was causing the high enzymes. now it was just a waiting game... since the tests showed a higher than normal amount of heart enzymes (or whatever they are) they wanted to wait 4 hours to redo the tests to make sure the enzymes lowered before letting him go. (he was throwing freight that morning which is what they think highered the enzymes in the first place but its always good to know for sure...) so while we waited we watched rachael ray, the office, according to jim, tmz, and ate a small frozen dinner. exciting i know! so finally at 1:30 they came and took the 2nd round of heart tests. more waiting... they came around 2:00 to give him some acid reflux meds thinking that might help the pain. then around 3:00 they came in to tell tony the diagnosis and finally let him go!! yay!! they said his heart is really healthy and they are very positive that is not what is causing the pain. so they gave him a prescription for some acid reflux meds and told him to cut out the fat in his diet. (he has a 'fatty liver' from all the alcohol he used to drink and cutting out fat will help those enzymes go down) so now he just has to make a routine appointment with a cardiologist next week and he should be good to go! (although the chest pain is still there it is getting better, which makes me happy!)   :) thanks for all of your love and support through this scary experience. lets hope i never have to see him like that again!

oh and just to add to our eventful day... someone hit tony's car in the parking lot at the hospital and didn't leave a note or anything... oh! and the hospital doesn't have cameras facing the parking lot... lovely!
